Downstream Strategies is supporting the West Virginia Land Stewardship Corporation and community partner Unleash Tygart in redeveloping the former Hazel-Atlas Glass site, a key Tygart Valley River property in Grafton, West Virginia. With support from a 2025 U.S. EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grant, Downstream Strategies is providing Licensed Remediation Specialist services, reuse planning, and construction project management to address legacy contamination and prepare the site for reuse. The project envisions transforming the former industrial property into a hub for outdoor recreation and river access that advances Grafton’s broader riverfront revitalization strategy.
